Structural Health Monitoring

SHM creates an intelligent system by utilising new sensing, instrumentation, communication, and modelling technologies. The data collected by such systems could be put to use for a variety of purposes, like real-time monitoring of damages in structures, rapid assessments of damaged structures following an earthquake, estimating the remaining life of structures, repairing and retrofitting structures, as well as maintaining, managing, or rehabilitating historical structures.
